AN INNOVATIVE NEW WAY TO COMMUNICATE WITH

BIRDS

Robotics and PIGEONS Working Together

The PigeonPack was created to expand the way people communicate, interact with, and learn about and from pigeons. It is also part of our broader efforts to expand the form factor of the traditional operant conditioning chambers outside of the lab to help learn about animal behavior and cognition.

How it Works.

The PigeonPack records the motion of a pigeon in real-time while also creating a video from a literal bird’s eye view.

This device came out of the team’s efforts to expand the technology beyond a RatPack meeting the interest in new ways to communicate with and learn about animals from UCLA’s Comparative Cognition Lab.
